What if the mice could have infrared vision?
The "cyborgs" as a possibility have been a recurrent fantasy and science fiction in all that has permeated the genre. Movies, literature, without forgetting, of course, video games and comics have played with this idea for a long time. While real scientific advances seem to have been too late, the first steps in this area begin to appear as an alternative to end, with the help of neuroprosthesis.
A group of researchers achieved Duke University to provide infrared vision rats, using a process in which electrodes are involved connected to the brain of each animal. What might seem out of a movie has come true and now rodents have an infrared sensor installed in their heads.
This experiment aims to explore the potential of sensory neuroprosthesis to compensate and alleviate any sensory deficit, either naturally or from other causes. It also represents a greater understanding of the relationship between brain and computer interfaces that connect to both seek.
The biggest problem with this procedure is that it is invasive and will take years of research and testing before it can achieve something similar in humans. This also gives way to speculation that aim to suggest that this technique could not only correct a deficiency, but increase the existing capacities in being involved, although this time-of-yet becomes a concern for researchers.
The five new species of crustaceans
There is information about five new species of crustaceans.
The discovery conducted by experts from the Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes and the University of Barcelona (UB) is a sign of potential new species are known. It is estimated that known only between 10% and 20% of the existing crustaceans.
Researchers had collected and studied different species of crustaceans during recent expeditions to Madagascar, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Philippines and French Polynesia. In studying the common features could observe each other, and different from the rest, which has led them to determine them as a new species. The triodonthea, which have thus baptized, and have been recognized by Worms (World Register for Marine Spacies, World Register of Marine Species in English).
The cheetah
There is information about the cheetah:
The cheetahs live in groups which sometimes consist of more than 40 individuals. The population of this superb animal just over 10,000 copies. As noted in numerous zoos, the fact that a higher number of males and females is positive at the time of reproduction. Its coat is characterized by two dark bands ranging from the mouth to the eyes. The drawing of the coat is formed by dark round spots arranged quite close to each other and without lighter areas inside. The tail, stained in 3/4 parts, having 1 to 3 rings of the terminal, whose tip is white. In the neck shows a short mane, more developed in males.
English
Hi, we are five girls from Gijón, in Spain. We make this web page to teach you how to care the animals. We hope you like it. Now we put and article to learn about the brown bear.
The brown bear is one of the endangered species of our country. Its scientific name is Ursus Arctos. In the Cantabrian Mountains is the only native population in Spain. The last specimen native disappeared in 2010 and is presumed dead. Grizzly bear habitat is the mountains, the forests, and that preference identified with remote and wild places.
However, Cantabrian bears survive for centuries in a humanized landscape and today is hacercan even to cities (there are some established just 15KM of Oviedo). The supeviviencia of the species is not possible without the conviviality with man.
